We are Masque Productions
Masque Productions is an amateur dramatic society based in the town of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. We’ve been performing famous shows and musicals at the iconic Palace Theatre for over 50 years. During that time we’ve had the honour of performing many classics (Oliver!, Grease, Annie, West Side Story) along with ambitious, modern productions (Jesus Christ Superstar, Jekyll and Hyde, The Full Monty). Our shows use official, professional sets and our casts are made up primarily of amateur actors, singers and dancers. We all band together to give every single person in the theatre, in front or behind the curtain, an unforgettable experience.
Rehearsing
We start rehearsing around 6 months before we perform. Meeting twice a week (Mondays and Wednesdays) at the St John’s Community Centre at 7:30pm. A fantastic space that allows ample room and great acoustics for both song and dance practice. Led by our show director, musical director and choreographer.
Performing
We perform all our shows for one week (one performance per evening from Tuesday and we squeeze in a matinee on Saturday) at the 534 capacity Mansfield Palace Theatre. This classic venue has provided the local area with live entertainment for over a century, attracting a wide variety of acts. We are honoured to perform here in front of live audiences.
